The Black Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Southeastern Ontario (BEESEO) is dedicated to identifying, supporting, and creating programs and services that help Black business owners and entrepreneurs in our region overcome the unique challenges they face. We are currently seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board as volunteer board members.

About BEE:

Our mission is to foster a thriving ecosystem where Black entrepreneurs can access the resources, mentorship, and support needed to succeed. We focus on creating an inclusive environment that addresses systemic barriers and promotes economic empowerment within the Black community.

Board Member Responsibilities:

As a board member, you will:

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for BEE's programs and initiatives.
• Support fundraising and resource mobilization efforts.
• Advocate for the needs of Black entrepreneurs in Southeastern Ontario.
• Collaborate with community stakeholders to enhance BEE’s impact.
• Attend monthly board meetings and participate in committee work.
• Identify a passion project that aligns with BEESEO’s strategic plans and lead it to fruition. 

Term and Commitment:

• Board members serve a three-year term, renewable after the first term for a maximum of three terms.
• This is a volunteer position with an estimated commitment of 8 -10 hours per month.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of BEE.
• Experience in business, entrepreneurship, non-profit management, or community development.
• Strong leadership and collaborative skills.
• Entrepreneurial experience is an asset.
• Must be a resident of Southeastern Ontario.
• Ability to commit the time required to fulfill board duties effectively.
